Sigh…lovely day outside today, thought I’d try to take some nice pics of our 9 week old dark brahmas. Don’t know if I’d be as willing to do this if I actually had to pay for film and developing like we did in the good old days! 😂
So how many “waaaaay to close”, how many “turned at just the wrong time”, how many “I’m just not quick enough” shots does it take to get that perfect poultry picture?
I may never know, but it’s definitely worth the time, and the contortions!

When it comes to chickens or my horses for that matter the rule of thumb is "I need a couple good pictures so lets take about a 100 or more." I play around with different settings, even the sports setting and someone is always going to move when you think you have that perfect shot. Sometimes though, those bloopers can turn into happy accidents and you'll get a cute or funny one out of it.
This one was a happy accident. She was standing so pretty when I went to take the picture. At the last second she decided to peck the lens and I ended up with this Silkie Selfie.

Honestly though, for every picture that turns out like this

I have 100s similar to this
