Well, we've been taking our blue duo outside each afternoon to peck in the grass and scratch and get some exercise.
#4 son has named them. Non-appropriate names IMO for such beautiful birds but he name the roo "Spaz" and the pullet "Lucy".
He says that the roo is scared to death of everything! I think it's just instinct... when a dove flew over and landed on top of the coop he jumped up into my lap! It was pretty funny... and it was a running jump.
It's just fun watching them pick and scratch in the grass... Spaz saw a fly and did all in his power to catch and eat him. Lucy is more demure and laid back but still acts scared to death. Their poo was a little runny for the first few days but it's looking good now and more like the rest of the chickens.
I'll get some pics of them tomorrow on their excursion outside.
Sunday it's suppose to be cold and rainy so I guess they'll have to stay inside that day.
I just want "Spaz" to grow up to be the king of the flock and to breed him to anything that hatches in our bator and to Lucy. I think it will be especially fun if I have some Blue Wheaten pullets to breed him to. Also, I hope that he doesn't learn to crow!!!
