The dam called Teriaki above looks to have reddish brown smut, don't breed that in. Though you can paint them later after you build the body type don't breed any smutty or red leakage birds if you can avoid it. Nip that early.

Not the best "upskirt" shots of my girls since they were annoyed with me for pulling them out of the nestboxes and sticking them on the roosts, but what I could get tonight.

I'll try to get more natural photos this week and get them correlated to band color.

I've been feeling for width across the chest and back.

If you look at the third photo in post #1 you'll see brown leakage in the wings. Also the last photo in post #14 showing tails you'll see that leakage again. You never want this in your birds. If you've an above average bird with some leakage or smut then it may be to advantage to use it for body type improvement but knowing you'll be culling hard for birds showing reddish brown from that offspring. It's more enhanced by long summer sun. So know that birds that wouldn't express it if provided a lot of shade will show some reddish brown with a lot of sun. You obviously choose those not or least effective as breeders.
