Duchess the hen has decided to go broody on not only her eggs but whoever else is laying in that nest. Next to her is Midnight, one of my Malard/Runner hens who has also decided to do the broody thing. They are in the water trough feeder turned nest together staring at each other. When one gets up to eat or get water the other guards the nests!

Talk about differing species practicing teamwork!

They get along so well, it's cute to watch them. I was worried at first having two broodies in there especially of different species.

I was thinking of fencing them off because I have someone stealing eggs out of the broodies nests and eating them. I don't know who is doing it, but my other duck got off her nest and I caught several chickens eating an egg out of her nest about 10 feet from it but I don't know who took the egg from the nest.

Ha, I love it! I have a similar thing going on between my hen turkey and one of the muscovies. I don't think it will turn out well though.
