The silkies are actually all running together. I have a blue roo, a partridge roo, and a white roo, with 5 white hens, 3 partridge hens, a red hen and 3 blue hens. I should separate them by color ... but haven't ever built the pens for them. I bought them as eggs on eggbid from show stock ... paid lots $$$$ for them. Very nice puffy heads on the one's I kept for breeding. Had some really nice light blue chicks .... probably lavender, lol that I sold recently.
Darn....if they were all one color, I'd take them in a heartbeat...although, I'd have to decide on ONE color! LOL They sound nice, though. I've tried the brabanters & and Spitz and got none to hatch. Are they harder than other kinds of chickens??
Standard ~ I took a pic tonight with my camera phone, but they're a wee bit wild and did not want me close enough to get a good picture.
(They're my aunts, I'm taking care of her birds this weekend and she said I can sell the eggs from all of the birds or do whatever I wanted with them! hehe)
hehe They are very fertile here (100% so far), but you know how shipping is...all the babies so far come out looking blue, but they are starting to get there feathers and it's hard to tell, yet. The daddy's tail is sooo gorgeous!
