I second you on the cannon PowerShot. I have one also and even though it is kinda old now and the flash doesn't like to work 90% of the time anymore I LOVE it. It takes pretty, big photographs. It doesn't have amazing zoom but the only cameras with amazing zoom are amazingly expensive.

It's hard to explain. What you can do is look at somebody elses neck for a moment and see how it's shaped.
