The case of the disappearing wattles

I have a partridge cochin who is about 5-6 weeks old. I noticed earlier this week wattles developing, a little more prominently on the left side. I just looked at her this evening and they're gone! What's that all about? Any ideas?

Do you have another? is it possivle you mixed them up? It sounds very unusual that they would just dissapear....
