Codi flailed in the water, usually she was a great swimmer, put panic controlled her body, she couldn't think, she couldn't make her arms and legs work together.

John was rolled and smashed as the large waves slammed into the beach. He dug his hands into the sand, trying to keep from washing back out to see. He coughed up mass amounts of sea water, his mouth dry and nasty tasting, he rose to his feet, he looked out at the hull of the ship, sinking below the water, the last bit of metal shimmered in the flash of lightning. He cupped his hands over his eyes, trying to shield them from the rain, he searched the water for survivors.

"Hello?" she asked. getting up from the sand, by the washes shoving up her cloths. She had her stuff with her but not all of it. She got up looking for any sign of life out there. All she seen was John but the darkness prevented from her seeing who it really was. She felt the water taking over the moisture from her throat. She observed seeing anyone out there.

''hold on!'' he called. he sucked in a breath and plunged into the dark waters after the sinking girl. he grabbed her shirt collar and swam with all his might to the beach. a heavy wave rolled them up onto the shore. he coughed and gaged, at the water in his throat.
