Mutts are great dogs!! I just need very high drive and workability as mine will be a working dog, something that is harder to find at a shelter.
ahh yes. what do your dogs do?

i just HATE how people never adopt. they go to petland (DONT GET ME STARTED ON THAT HORRIBLE PLACE) and they never adopt. the adoption dogs have to be put down after a certain amount of time. poor pups. my adoption dog is awsome! and so are my friends!

I have considered search and rescue, but for sure Schutzhund and maybe mondioring. (Technically sports but you still need extreme drive and such) I absolutely despise back yard breeders and puppy mills. They are just putting dogs together for money and popping out a ridiculous number of puppies. Ethical beeeders only breed a litter or two a year and really focus on health and temperament and improving the breed. If we could get rid of all the bybs and puppy mills it would be sooo much better.

i agree!!!

my grandma is a breeder in Maine. she about 6 litters in the span of 8 years with her dog. the dog is now "retired". all the pups went outside and all of that. she had a total of 3 outdoor pastures and 2 indoor rooms. they were all healthy and well looked after. she kept two of her pups and they are great. she is choosing not to breed.

That’s good! It really frustrates me where breeding is going in the US, it’s absolutely horrible. All these pugs and frenchies and doodles. Horrible health but people breed them because they are “adorable”
