|~~**The Chatterbox Chooks Club!!!**~~|

My hens hate my rooster of a morning.
He comes tearing out of the roost shed and chases all the girls, trying to mount every single one, even the young non laying pullets.
He soon calms down though.lol.
My roo used to do that. My BCF gave him a good peck and he didn't bother her again until she started laying recently.
Also, he's settled down in general. I wouldn't want to have any fewer hens than I have though.
Now I have two roosters, so I need more hens.

I know! But the really really really really really really really really really really sad thing is, I might have to cull him. :( He isn't very nice to the ladies, (which is probably why they don't like him) and he has a attitude problem toward humans. :( I am so torn....he makes the hens mad (and me!) but he is the first animal my brother REALLY got attatched too. :( I dunno. I think if I do, I'll get a cochin roo in place of him. They seem to be nice.
Oh, no. I hope things work out with that. Do you think your brother would understand having to cull him? Maybe he could transfer his attachment to the new roo?
Cochins are so nice!!! They're sweeties. Wyandottes are too. =)

I'm sure all my hens are like that. They don't like Mr. Darcy at ALL! Poor guy. :)
Aw! Poor Mr. Darcy!!!

I've never ever ever looked at their chicks before, I've always ordered from a hatchery.....but TSC HAS SILKIES!!!!!!!

Get 'em! Get 'em! Get 'em!

Mine doesn't. =(
But I think I could get them from a friend anyway.
Mine has boring breeds, nothing exciting like silkies, but I heard the guy talking about getting in hundreds more. =D Maybe I can get a roo for my BCF????

Yes, my brother would understand. Will. I'm giving Mr. Darcy to a friend to take care of. :( I guess that means Dad will say yes to silkies and or cochins.

I might. might might might. get some silkies and/or cochins tonight. :D
That would be great!!! Let us know!!

That's what he needs, a good peck on the head!
He is still rather young, not even a year old yet.
That's a wonderful excuse

!!!

You can do that with a blunt stick. (peck him on the head)
Yeah, mine is going to be a year in April; I think yours will setting down.
Oh, yeah, I'm full of them; unfortunately, DH doesn't buy them all, right now he's not buying any of them, I'm only allowed to hatch. lol

Hatching is super fun though
big_smile.png
!!!
I have been only hatching for the past several months to increase my flock.
Do you have land? Why won't your husband have MORE!
I think it is! =D
I've been trying to hatch since Dec; I've got one chick to show for it. But a friend of mine hatched me a dozen, so I have a baker's dozen fuzz butts out back.
Land isn't the problem; DH doesn't want me to end up with more than I can take care of properly.

BTW, I like the chickens in your siggie!

Scratch that. Either tomorrow at the earliest or next wednesday at the latest. :D

Oh, well, that gives you time to prepare.
Coop cleaning, adjustments, additions, building, etc. =D

Quote: Oh, well that's not to fun.
My last hatch also was a blow - 6 Blue Leghorn eggs and 3 crosses. Only the 3 crosses hatched. I was really wanting those BL's, I paid good money for them too.

But then you just hire a helper, so you can have goats, sheep and cows

!!!
Try ducks, they are good fun.lol.

Thanks!
