Well one of my pullets has started laying at last. I have 6 eggs so far. The other morning one of the eggs was outside the coop on the ground. My rooster Cayenne found it and called one of his hens over. He started dancing around it and showing it to her. I'm not sure if he was congratulating her or telling her this is what she needs to be doing. I've never seen him dance like that before, but the next day he loss his virginity to the same hen.[IMG][IMG]

That's the mating dance. It's what roos do to impress a hen and encourage her to squat. He'll get into the laying boxes and coo and pretend like he is laying an egg when he wants them to lay. Roos seem to really get into what their ladies are doing when they lay eggs. I think it is cool to watch their behaviour.
