Sooo...I was over on backyardherds looking at goat stuff because we are getting some later in the fall.

A question was posted about what sorts of medicines you should keep around if you have goats. The list was....ummm....pretty long. haha

That got me thinking about my little chicken flock. Are there some medicines that I should be keeping around "just in case" for the chickens?

I've got:

dry milk : cocci (old school)
blue coat: pecking
pine tar: picking
A D E : strong shells when oyster shell is not enough
a very sharp knife for culling
neosporin : cuts and scrapes
DE : worms
wood ash : lice
Sevin for lice, only when nothing else works

there is probably something else

A D E ? would that be vit a d and e? I have one hen that seems to be having a prob. All the hens lay every day with beautiful solid shells. but....her. Just every now and then but poor dear just needs something special it seems...

yes its a vitamin mix , I can not get just D, the combo works very good, its made more for cows but can be used for most livestock
