Nice. I love to see the female taking care of them. I hope mine can do this soon. She keeps giving up on sitting just before hatch should happen and twice now I have tried to save them but they die in the shell. I am going to try again with the ones she is laying now and then hope she takes some time off as its almost fall and daylight is dimming.
Congrats son your chicks and have fun! they are sure fun to watch grow...it is so fast! they will be flying before you know it, just be warned. most of all have fun!

Sorry to hear that Usually they'll do it when they have a big space and not many other quail. You should design a small box out of tissue paper boxes and make a long den-like cave. they like it when they can have their nest far from the entrance of the box. make sure its narrow too. good luck

Sorry about not updating for a while.

The last 2 hatched! The very last one took FOREVER!! It was pipped for 27 hours! I had to make a hole for it, but then it zipped all by itself.

Something is wrong.I noticed that the mom being really mean towards the babies. When they try to follow her or get underneath her, she picks them up violently by the legs and throws them! One of them walks wierd now.

What do I do???
