Hawkeye? Are you a M.A.S.H. fan? How about Trapper John? Or just Trapper. Or perhaps an Iowa fan? (State University of Iowa Hawkeyes) Then how about Cyclone? (Iowa State University Cyclones)

But my first inclination was Sparky. He has a certain spark in his eyes! Looks like a winner!!

All your chicks are all beautiful. What's the little satiny looking one with the messy feathers? It's just precious!! And I especially love the blue ones. I just got some new chicks and had to take a minimum of 6. In order to get the last RIR pullet they had, I had to get 5 more...so I got 1 male RIR and 4 EE chicks and one of them looks blue. It was supposed to be a male tho. I did the gold ring thing ( you know that old pioneer way of sexing chicks...LOL) and it said it was a female. So far it's been about 85% accurate for me!! I sure hope my blue is a female!!

Not sure which one you mean. Which picture? Gindee, Hawkeye is actually named after the character in Last of the Mohicans, where Hawkeye Pierce got his own nickname, not actually named after the MASH character. I like Trapper, though. We'll have to see about a good, strong name for this little guy.
I don't know about a brown band you were talking about on the Welsummer's beak, checkforticks. These are my first Wellies.​

This was the chick I meant...maybe it's just the way the light was hitting it, but it looks almost shiny instead of downy like the rest. I circled the one I meant.

Re: name...Well, if you named him Chingachgook, it could be very hard to call him and the other chickens would make fun of him!

So how about Cooper (after the author of Last of the Mohicans)?? Good name for a chicken! Get it? Coop...Cooper!

Actually I do like the name Cooper for a big ol' roo!

Ok, that is one of the Buff Orpingtons! They are a luminous gold color, aren't they? Actually, I like Cooper for a rooster's name. Good suggestion! I'll run that by DH. He suggested Nate/Nathaniel, Hawkeye's real name in Last of the Mohicans, but not sure I can call a rooster "Nathaniel", LOL.

Beautiful babies....I think that since Hawkeye was such a big beautiful boy and his son is just as gorgeous, big and strong looking, name him Atlas. The name says big and strong.

he looks like a Boss or a Sport. i thought of a really good name the other day that i was going to suggest to you for a son of Hawkeye and now i cant remember it. the aging process sucks, ive decided.

PS. i think you should hatch out some more ameracaunas.
