The Chronicles of Samson: Olympic Diver

Vaccine clinics are perfect! The just give the vaccines so make sure that he is healthy when he goes. We've all been at that point where we just about choke on vet care expenses!! That's why they have the clinics. I'm glad to hear that he seems to be doing better.

Four hundred dollars?! You're getting robbed! Definitely shop around, that's a crazy amount. Does your local university have a vetrinary college? That may be more reasonably priced.

Yes I am beginning to wonder if maybe my vet is ripping me off a little bit. She is super nice and she has sent me home with a complimentary food kit the last two times I have been in there. But yea, 400$ for a kitten package. Yikes.

I did find a vaccine clinic that will do all of his vaccines for 76 dollars. I think that is way more reasonable. I also applied for a neuter voucher. That way I still save money, and Samson gets the benefit of being operated on by a licensed vet instead of going to a spay clinic. He will have the benefit of a blood panel, anesthesia, and pain management. A much better situation than the one I had set up before.

If it's any consolation, neutering is nowhere near as traumatic as a spay. On farms around here, they run their barn cats into a pipe and snip off the testicles and then turn the cat free. I haven't seen one lost yet...and there is no pain management at all that way. I do like to have my animals tested as healthy before any procedure so I am glad little Samson will get the best care possible :)

Ugh I can not beleave how expensive that stuff is where you are. Here a full set of shots without rabies is about 40 or 50 . I go to the feed store and buy the shots and give them myself . I hate the idea of hurting my cat but once I got the hang of it he barely felt it and 15 dollers vs 50 dollers well its self explantory. If he gets urinary issues deal with them , get the ****** 16 - 20 doller a month bag of food Im still crabby about that one but and emergancy vet visit for partal blockages or serious infection ext cost me 450+ each time and it seemed to happen about once every 10-14 months so in the end the 20 for the food wasnt so bad. Good luck
here is my monster cat he was tossed out of a car and found in the bushes with a bleeding head so he came to stay with us

Good news! It seems that Samson has learned to cope with whatever little kitty issue made him want to go outside the litterbox! He is doing much better. His appetite is back and he is even gaining some weight back. He is back to his healthy svelt little self

I finally "cashed in" on my belated anniversary gift from Jamison. A brand new cat scratcher. A big one

I also got him (Samson, not Jamison) a new collar, which he HATES haha.

Video Here....

The best part? Watching him freak out every time he moves because of the little bell on the collar

that tiny boy is going to 'pay you back' by refusing to use the litter box ever again!

Funny you should say that...

He's peeing in corners again.

I am going to call the vet today and get the antibiotics. Urg.

On the upside, he is still pretty cute. And it's a good thing too. If he were any less cute Jamison may have already pitched him out. His peeing is really getting out of hand. Extremely frusterating.
