I just got back in from letting Sgt. Pepper and his girls, Yoko and Ono out to play. They kinda just hung around the coop. They'll get more adventurous in a few days. I've forgotten how relaxing it is to watch chickens peck around. I grew up on a farm and have really missed them. I hope I didn't get the chicken bug... we're working on our next coop now to house the Columbian Cochin Bantam trio I'm getting on Sunday. LOL!!! and I still want some Mille Fleurs!! Oh No, my husband's gonna freak:)

I just love this coop. Was thinking of entering that coop contest if I can ever figure out the whole picture resizing, and moving around thing. It's pretty in depth. Thanks again, everyone! -Erin

Oh, my! Your coop is adorable and you should be very proud. I love everything about it. What colors did you use?? Beautiful baby and roo! He looks so happy..Dixie

wowser,

i grew up summering on the outer banks, that is so old school. i admire the old architecture, it saddens me to see the condo crap that they are putting up these days, it's a blight on a clasic landscape.

doc,

evil genius

The color is "lighthouse shadows" great for my beachy theme. It's a Valspar color from Lowe's. We picked it to go with the roof.

We're wondering about the ramp. I've seen the roo come down but I wind up putting them all up at night and putting the hens down in the morning. I've seen ramps longer and steeper so I know they can do it. -just need to get used to it. Maybe I'll stick one of the hens down or up and urge the other to hunt for her:)

You're coop is just beautiful!! You've done a wonderful job. And I love to see chickens that are sooo tame that your children can hold them. That is so cute.

I've found it's easy to train them to a ramp, I use them a lot, by sprinkling some scratch or other treat all the way up. That way they slowly climb the ramp as they eat the feed then suddenly "discover" the coop at the top.

Thanks so much about the ramp tip. It worked! They are all going up and down it now. Love all the great tips I get on here.

Wow! Awesome job! Will you all move it around like a tractor of sorts so that it doesn't kill the grass in that one spot?

Your little one with the chicken is adorable!
