.22 is amazing! Cheap, accurate, CAN kill, and comes in many forms and sizes. I really want the Walther P22. Just for self defense. But I hate to stray away from my .380. More knock down power. But same size.

I hunt with a 7.62X39mm with a blued stock and red-dot scope. It's dead accurate. It uses regular fishbone clips and you can load 5 rounds really quick and smooth. No real recoil, but you couldn't tell that to the recieving end! Pow! The rounds are tough, They seem to navigate through brush etc. better than other rounds of it's class. It's a great deer hunting weapon, ladies!

Last year we did terribly! Our gang meets and hunts on our farm (actually 90% woodland). The first HOUR of the first day, one of our number shot hair out of the armpit of a 9-point buck. Never saw it again. The only deer we got was hardly more than a rabbit with hooves. The fellow who shot her (this is the kind of guy everybody distastes, but nobody says anything about it) was almost ran over by a troupe of three does, swung and shot the very smallest. 20lbs. of meat. Wow.
Oh. Wow.
When my stepdad went deer hunting, this REALLY FAT 12 pointer (I think 12... maybe more...) was walkin' right on into his kill zone, when he got spooked and ran off, and apparently this hunter was walking near where his kill zone was, who looked like his hunter's gear and clothes had been just GLUED onto him, and he smelled like smoke. So he ruined a good kill.
