The Countdown is on.....

Temp still getting to top 39's degC

Is it really crucial to keep it steady at the beginning, end or all through.

I'm hoping that the few days are OK?

Suggestions needed.

Have rigged up a lightbulb and thermostat in a nother chilli bin, but have not had tme to clalibrate it yet. Need a CPU fan for it.

Eddie,

LOL, that's my husband's name.. so that seems odd. Anyway..

I'm having the same issue with mine. Fluctuating temps (the only positive thing I can say about that is they fluctuate quickly on my super-sensitive thermometer, so the ambient temp is still about right). No advice to give, but I can feel your frustration! I have PAGES of temps (hi/lo) and hubby suggested this morning that I was driving myself crazy and need to do something else

but I can't. I went to bed.. woke up and my high temp had spiked, and the low temp was higher than I'd like. ARG!

Yeah same here...

I have my probe in a water weasel so my temps don't fluctuate as much, so when it says the weasel is 39degC+ I get nervous. But still its early days (3 or 4) so I'm trying to talk myself into saying it's OK. Later when there is a more developed embryo I'll be even more nervous, especially in the last week.

Hopefully I will have the other one wire up and be more constant.

well after 10 days I'm managing to keep the chilli bin at about 36-37degC.

Candled the four eggs in it and they look good, blood veins and dark centres.

I'll have to try the eggs under "Chicken Little" later on..cull the dud ones and transfer my chilli bin eggs to her.

Then I can work on getting the incubator done properly.
