The crower

I have never heard a hen crow myself. Some say it is possible...hard for me to believe unless I see it.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens!

Hens will crow--but it will not sound like a rooster crow--at the end of laying for the hen. That is usually between 3 years up or so.

The ovary(hens only have one) shrivel up and female hormones stop. Sometimes that causes enough of a change for crowing.

Yours looks like a Rooster though. The color is light and I see some saddle feathers
