Hi Everyone,
We just hatched our first batch of chicken eggs ever! I just wanted to say that this chick, the first to come out of her egg yesterday afternoon, is the sweetest ever!! She is such a blessing and a joy. 10 minutes after being put into brooder from incubator, she was already cuddling up to my hand and sleeping in my palm absolutely willingly!!! We named her Violet. I just wanted to say that chicks are THE BEST!! She is the most special chick ever! Do you have a chick or chicken like this? Please let me know!!! I would love to hear about him or her!
Thank you all!!!!!!!

You can’t really tell the gender until they’re around 4 weeks old. Cockerels should have a pretty pronounced comb by then.

What a precious chick! We haven't had the honor of hatching our own eggs yet, but I'm hoping to buy an incubator this winter so I have months of research I can do on properly incubating so we can potentially hatch a few next summer. Violet is SO fluffy! Here's to many more pics and memories for you and Violet.

I do have one absolute angel named Gadget, an EE/Americana. She's gotten a good bit bigger than this (she's about 3 weeks now!), but always loves to hop up on my hand and hang out with me. (I say she as they were sexed pullets from TSC, but also knowing TSC... 🤭 ) She's got 'angry eyebrows' but is such a little doll.
