It's official! The date for my first processing experience is January 8th. I found a lady on Craigslist that was wanted to get rid of some roosters (French black copper Marans
) so I emailed her and proposed an idea. I come out to her property and process the chickens, I give her half the meat, we both get what we want. She accepted!
I would have just picked up the roos and processed them at our house. Except that we live in a townhouse in the heart of Sacramento and no way in heck would we be able to get away with processing chickens here haha.
I am now getting ready to start ordering my supplies and educating myself. I have already read Frugal's post about seventeen kabillion times. Very helpful.
