that they have adequate heat, water and food... same as big girls. Oh and that there's no openings that they can slip through depending on their age. I put mine in the coop at a day old and we've never had any problem (i'm assuming you're not mixing with older hens?)
 
my experience has been that as long as the littles out number the bigs and they're big enough to handle themselves (ie they won't die if they get stepped on) then it's ok to try. I found that when the littles outnumber the bigs then they're so busy running around that the bigs can't go after any single one. I would make sure they had a spot that they can get into that the bigs can't for protection. I would also do this with caution. I don't mix mine until they're at least 4 months old but that's me. It also depends on your breeds. I would wait as long as you can though if it's at all possible so that you'll have the best chances at a good outcome. It's a role of the dice
