They were not in agreement when it came down to the Constitution (yes this thread is about the Declaration of Independence). Many of them saw us, the common person, as not being able to make the right decision when it came to governing, hence the electoral college.
Much more can be said but let me leave it with this. They were great men who did great things and left us with the best form of government that man could design and the best nation on this earth.
