I've been learning so much about litter, DE and such, but hearing everyone else talkabout cleaning their coops I guess I've been doing some things right. I have had deep hay/straw for my ducks for years and just continued itfor the chickens, adding pine shavings when I read it about it here. In my little coop,i have just shavings and I clean the poo out with a cat litter scoop. I do a total clean out in the spring adding it to my compost pile. All the rest of the year I just keep turning over the litter in the duck shed. Some of it turns into "dirt" that I leave in since the floor IS dirt. It's almost time to start mucking!
