 Yesterday we had some people over to help us install an extra fence that was suppose to help me manage and keep safe my birds. I left the job early to take care of my grand-daughter. When the other left after dark the hens were already roosting. They left the gate open and when the sun came up the chickens got out into the big yard. Long story short... dogs meet chickens, chickens meet dogs. So far only one found dead, but several others missing.

My plan was to have two separate fenced in areas, one for egg birds and the other for meat birds. Both of these areas would be inside another fenced area away from the dogs. The dogs were probably just playing with the birds a little too rough. Sometimes I let them in the chicken area with me and they normally leave the chickens alone.

Oh dear. Yes that is ironic! Hope you find your missing birds and they have just hidden themselves somewhere, out of harms way.
