The Down Side of Free Ranging Chickens

That's the truth. My chickens go for the cat food, taste of all my seedlings that are to be planted, and make themselves at home on the back porch. I have no mulch left around the shrubs in the back yard. But I still enjoy them so much.

I guess my chickens are special.
I set 4 posts without their permission (new coop in progress) and they never bothered my tomato garden even though they like when I put wormy tomatoes in their run.
They seem to think I'm boring.


Except when I mow, then they want to stand right in front of the mower. I swear they have no fear - except of stupid things that won't hurt them a bit.

Now back when I had a mean roo he was all up in my business and followed me around just to bite me. I don't miss him a bit.

Number 7 is a real prob. for me. I have a bunch of bushes about 100 feet from the house.

The chickens rest and nap there. When I walk out the back door they come a running for 'THEIR BREAD TREATS".

Some days there are a good many of them !!
