The Dragon Riders

Cocoa was going about as fast, if not faster, than chip, bolting through the woods. In no time, she came into the clearing. She haunted slightly and slowed to a a trot. She smiled. Then she remembered. Her expression changed. She looked down at her hands which were gripping the reins tightly.

Kyle arrived at the clearing right after Julie had. "Hah, congratulations." He laughed as his horse trotted next to Cocoa.

"It's pretty far away. C'mon, follow me." She said as she started forward again in a fast paced trot. Chip jumped up, his wigs snapping out. He shot up into the sky through the trees. He flew over the tree tops, pretty much shading Julie and Kyle while they trotted on.

The king of Blazerod laughed after his son had left. "Haha, I hope your ready King of Golden Galore..."

Kyle followed Julie on his horse. He could feel the wind blow in his hair and heard the trotting of the horses hooves. The fresh smell of pine trees filled his nose.

Julie clenched her jaw. She sighed sadly, obviously upset by what she was going to say next. "My birthday is in a few weeks." She said finally.
Kyle knew what that meant. He felt something pinch in his heart. He became speechless for a while. "Run away with me..." He said with sadness in his throat as he looked at the floor that seemed like it was buried in twigs and pines.

She looked over at him. A bit shocked. She couldn't say anything. "Or I could refuse to marry.... He's coming here for my birthday dinner. My parents said so. It will be my choice and my choice only to whome I marry." She said firmly. "My parents don't tell me whom I marry."
