The Dragon Riders

Chip peeked out from behind Julie, though he was quite big, even bigger than she. It stretched its wings out, getting in front of Julie in a defensive position. "No, chip. It's ok... He's with me." Julie said as she got in between Ryan and chip. She put her hands out to stop him. Chip stared at her, confused. "This is Ryan. He's a friend." She said in a sweet voice. "Good boy." She said as she rubbed his snout. She pushed him away from Ryan slightly. She turned around and looked at Ryan. "Sorry about chip, he's a bit protective over me." She said slowly. She brushed the loose strands of hair behind her ear.

A friend? Ryan's face turned red for a second and then snapped back to normal. "It's okay, most dragons are like that." He said looking at chip in the eyes.

She turned back to chip. "Go on, chip. Back to my room." She said. Chip didnt move. "I'll be right back. I've got to fly him back up to my room." She said as she climbed onto chip.
Ryan sat down on the ground and picked at the grass not caring if it was an unprince-like thing to do. Thoughts flooded his mind about the dragon egg he had found when he was just a little kid...
