Well I've finally worked up the courage to ask the experts. I've tried not to have high expectations about the number of pullets but I'm still kinda scared to find out...Though I suppose less pullets in this batch means I have room for more in the spring hehehe! I've written under each pic which gender I think they are but I would really appreciate some other opinions, especially because this is the first time I've tried to sex chicks. I tried to take a clear picture of each of their combs but a couple came out fuzzy. Turns out its not that easy to hold a chick in one hand and take a picture of it with the other

Okay so my count is 6 pullets, 2 not sure, and 16 cockerels. What do you guys think? I reeeaally hope the 2 I'm not sure about turn out to be pullets as I was hoping for at least 8 and they are 2 of my favorites

"not sure" #1 looks like a pullet."not sure" #2 I'm going to say cockerel. With those two more pictures would help. I believe you are correct with the others.

Thanks for the swift reply!

I just went out and snapped some better pics of those two. The brown one has very slim legs as well, I call her/him Olive right now as it is the only chick with green legs. Big darn on the other likely being a cockerel, that means all my fuzzy leg Brahma crosses are male

. That one has the most beautiful feathers too and unfortunately it is very shy.

I agree with your guesses. On the ones you're not sure on, I'm leaning towards them both being pullets. For sure, I think that the first unknown is a pullet.

Thinking pullet for now.

Slight chance that this cockerel is actually a pullet.

Awesome, thanks

If you think that one might be a pullet do you think there is a chance with this one as well? However slight that may be. Some days I'm convinced they're all gonna be cockerels

. That just means I'll treasure any that do turn out to be pullets, I'm quite fond of some of these guys
