The dreaded 'what gender' question...7.5 weeks straight run.

Okay so there are now 14 I am positive are male and 2 I am positive are female. I am not 100% on these last 8 though so I would really appreciate more opinions!!!! They are 12 weeks on Sunday. Thanks a bunch

That would be fantastic! I searched for saddle feathers on them and found none and no obvious sickle feathers but I am suspicious about the neck feathers on some of them though. Do pullets usually have such pointy neck feathers? I know hackle feathers are much longer/skinnier but I am still suspicious and don't want to name them unless I am positive.

Your last group are all pullets. I think most of them, the feathers are colored in an optical illusion making them look pointed, where the feather itself is nice and rounded. This is still early age for sex feathers either way, so that's not a reliable indicator of gender. But these birds all have nice small, fleshy colored combs and pullet coloring.

Thank you

I looked closer this morning and it was indeed a cleaver optical illusion! I realize its not the most accurate, but it is the final sign I need to be sure of gender. Most of their sibling cockerels have definite and clear sex feathers and those who don't have very thick pin feathers in the areas where they are developing. I am VERY pleased with 10 pullets out of 24! even if a couple turn out to be cockerels
