A little bit ago, I changed out the hay in the duck house and left the extra hay in a stack in the house. The ducks made their nest near the stack and a couple days later what should I find but an egg in a crevice in the stack some inches off the ground like this:

I'm not sure what wierdo laid it their...
Me neither...
Now that's not something you see everyday! haha! cool!
 
has anyone noticed how a bunch of people who joined in 2016 have almost more posts than me? i joined in 2013! this is crazy!! i'm outside with chickens a lot in summer, so i post less. i have a cold right now, (ugh, day 5!!!) so i'm posting a little more resting in my chair and drinking my emergen-c
 
You're pretty Squeaky! Good chose Redferd. Have you had any ducklings? And how old are you?
we are 5, but we want ducklings but she won't get broody,
i do too but our owner doesn't! we where bred by someone at mom's work, we are actually brother and sister, the other sisters and brothers got killed by otters :(
i'm such a goo dad though! t i talk to the eggs even though their cold!

Group shot, they're still pretty skittish but they'll be getting a bigger area in a day or so I'll start working on getting them to like me (when I can sit down and they can walk up on their own instead of bieng in a tractor where I always have to bend down.
