Mine go in their coop at around dusk...most of the time. If it's raining or they're having fun with something new, I have to herd them into the coop.

Thanks. I want to try some ducks but I am concerned about racoons, mink, etc. getting a hold of them at night. I will need to close them in at night. They will be free ranged.

I've had my 4 since they were 'lings. They learn fast. Good luck! Keeping them in a predator proof enclosure at night is ideal.

Try only feeding them at night when it's time to come in. Get them used to the sound of a shaking food dish. Treats help too. Peas when they get into the pen...
