The Duck Thread

Yeah, thanks! Have you ever done breeding?
I have, My Muscovy's love to brood and hatch and many of my chickens have brooded and hatched chicks I let my flock take care of everything. Might even have my geese doing some brooding this coming year.

I have no idea! It's from a group of about 25/30, semi indian runner - chocolates, whites, looks like there's some magpie and mallard in there too.
I don't know why people rave about pure breed anything, hybrids and mongrels are more exciting, original and they seem to have better lifespans!
I'm sure I won't be able to resist posting photos of the newbies :)
Yeah, sounds great! I can understand where you're coming from with the crossbreed things because it's excited to see what they're gonna turn out like and stuff. I'm a purebred kind of person though, I like purebreds better because then I can show and breed them :)

Cool! I love the look of Muscovies, although most don't agree with me. I like more extraordinary breeds of animals, I'm not sure why

Yeah, and they're a rare breed which is good if I ever want to get into duck breeding :)
I like the idea of heritage breeds maybe one day for me, but I got into Muscovy's because I met them in the river below our home and fell in love that was close to 10 yrs ago.
