The Duck Thread

I'd put her and anyothers in a nice warm tub of water deep enough to float with supervision of course and just let them dive, dunk and play for about 10 minutes. Hopefully if something is stuck it will come out, could even be shavings if you use them. Make sure to put them in a nice warm place to dry out of drafts.

My duckling now no longer has the nose problems but now is breathing extremely fast with her mouth open.:hit

Help! 5 of my ducklings were attacking the other one. It now has s bald spot on his neck.. I odnt know hm what to do. Please help

I would wash the spot with warm water and make sure it's not an open sore. Then probably just keep an eye on the ducklings to see if it keeps happening. Others who have more experience might have other suggestions, but animals tend to work this stuff out on there own. If the attacks keep up and your worried for the ducklings safety maybe try placeing him with one of the ducks close by the others and gradually place them both back for a bit here and there? Or rotate what duck is with him? But if he's not hurt besides a bold spot I would just keep an eye on it.

How's your duckling this morning?

Also I can not see the skin but can see the softer of the down.
So relieved to hear she is doing much better. When I came in here this morning and read your post from last night, I was worried. Ducklings can get into all kinds of mischief I'd go out and dig them a chunk of sod [no chemicals] and put it in the brooder it will give them something to do besides chew on their buds. and next time your at TSC get some Blue Kote then if you see where one is messing with another you can apply some BK and it will disguise the area, but beware it makes anything it touches purple but sure works as a determent to chewing.

I am thinking of getting 2 more ducks to go with my runners. I want a guy to look after them and then another girl. I might get more runners but am not sure.
