I recommend metal half inch hardware cloth and electric wire. Thanks for joining us on the forum.

Help! I'm thinking of selling of my ducks. They just are not being very rewarding, no eggs, extra clean ups for me, they are still quite scared of me so cant pat them. I want to keep them but i would like some ideas on perhaps how to make them more enjoyable or at least get them laying again.

if your wanting something you can pat then you need a puppy, most ducks aren't that excited about being picked up or petted. And it takes alot of time to get them to trust you especially if you didn't get them as very young ducklings. How old are your ducks? have they laid at all since you have had them, they do need to take a break from laying once in a while.Yes ducks are messy but their antics are very rewarding, but then again if your not happy with them maybe finding them a good home would be best. All of my ducks but one do not want me to pick them up and snuggle, the only one we can pet and pick up is our drake we raised since his mama rejected him. so I have 12 ducks who don't want me to touch them and 1 that does. But they are always hanging out around me when i am outside and all will eat out of my hand, it takes time to make friends with ducks the are prey after all., but so worth the wait.

Treats! Lots of treats! And attention. I've never had problems with my duck who is as cuddly and sweet as they come. She will let anyone pet her and she will sit and cuddle all day if I let her! I don't know if you got yours as ducklings or not but I got mine when she was a few days old.

how old are they? they could be scared, my welsh harlequins stopped laying for 2 weeks when a stray dog visited them during the night.

Sorry about the multi quoting.lol.
My ducks are POL and I got them at POL, Ive had them for about 3-4 months now, I fully know if i wanted pet ducks I would have to get ducklings, but could they at least come up to me As Lydia said when you are digging in the pen or putting feed out, the closest they come is about 1 meter away and that's when they are running past me, so i cant get treats to them and the chickens are in there before the ducks can even see the treats.
I think I just want them to at least lay again, 1 did lay every morning for about 1 week when i first got them then we moved the pen and Ive had them in the new run and coop for about 1 month. All my chickens are laying. The set up for the ducks isn't the best as they wont go into the nesting sheds where their nest is in the day. They do sleep in the nesting shed ( away from the chickens ) and can lay in their nest ( which is on the ground ) until they are let out at 6:30am, is this plenty of time or do i have to teach them to go into the nest sheds in the day, like around 8:00 am???
