The Duck Thread

DuckDodgers, I would read up on the weed killer. It could be many days before it is safe. I just read in ACRES magazine that glyphosate kills good gut bacteria in animals and causes health problems. Not to panic you, I just think it would be good for you to have a good understanding and make up your mind based on information.

I would try to not allow the Ducks on land where those chemicals have been used for within at least a year, but I'm also a worry wort. You can call the company that makes the weed killer he decides to use, for whatever that would be worth.

My Cayuga ducklings are here! I ended up with 3 females and a male. And my injured black crested female, Ebony, has already adopted them. They are tucked under her right now. It is exactly want I hoped for. Ebony is going to be a mom and raise her companions!
So far the ducklings have only drank, but I added grow gel to their water. After they warm up under Ebony I will teach them where the food is. They were just hatched yesterday, so are pretty fragile. I am sitting next to the Ebony and her babies keeping an eye on things. To make sure she don't accidentally injure them.
Awesome and congratulations!

Here is Ebony with her 4 Cayuga ducklings. They have taken a couple bites of food. And stay close to Ebony. We are trying to figure out how to house tjem tonight. I was going to bring them inside. Didn't expect Ebony to accept them so quickly
Precious! I am so happy for Ebony.

Actually, I agree, except I think the Cayugas are actually Blue or Black Swedish. I'm pretty sure Blacks, but I'm not 100% sure. Edit; Looks more like one Blue and two Black Swedish.
