The Duck Thread

Well i thought my duck was molting or something cuz she just stopped laying! I found maybe 3 eggs, one at a time over this dry spell of hers! Them tonight i go out to close up the coop everybodys all nestled in but one...i was missing one of my sebright hens! So i look all over the coop and find this...

My sneaky lil quackers has been hiding her eggs from me! I found my sebright hen too...she was in one of my sons live traps behind the coop! Lol! Poor baby girl even laid her eggs in there! She'll be ready to eat in the morning!

Omg so funny! We had the same thing happen with a chicken once! She had been laying under a propped up piece of wood in the neighbor's yard. You can imagine their surprise when they went to use it for a project and there was a nest of eggs underneath!! Sneaky things.

Yep, she's spunky today... had her separated from the 4 chicks that hatched the day before... today she jumped ship and joined them, lol... is busy nibbling their toes...

So far... was a test batch of Lady Greys eggs and I got some shipped to try to not have a singleton... her shipped egg was the only survivor... malpositions, pipped wrong end and eggs too small were some issues... have another batch due in a couple days, so hopefully she'll have company soon...

Glad you have more hatching look forward to seeing them.. Sorry about the problems but from all I have read it isn't that easy hatching Calls. They sure are adorable lil things though.
