The Duck Thread

Weeeeeee, I hadn't yet, Miss Lydia. It is so adorable. I love his action avatars.. Tootsie Roll. My love, Tevye drinking out of the pool. I want him.

I was wondering whetre the Weeeeeee was. lol
Silly girls...

They are actually drinking out of a heated bucket with an anti-duck-swimming lid on it.

Today it was 20 degrees out and the sun was bright so I put out two kiddie pools for an hour and a half (1:30 - 3:00 so they would have plenty of time in the sun after the pool was "closed".) About 2/3 of them took advantage of it and the other 1/3 were looking at me like I was crazy. The funniest part was that after they swam in the pool, they laid down on the straw in the sun (or on the poop pile where the old pine shaving bedding gets dumped - also in the sun.) Well a few minutes later, they got up and walked around and most of them had straw or shavings frozen to their feathers by little droplets of water that had frozen into ice.

The straw and shavings fell off after several more minutes, but all the swimmers were looking pretty ratty for a while. Tevye had a single piece of straw about 8" long stuck to his poof. He gave it a good shake and it fell off, but he looked pretty funny. Right now they are all inside their house first door has closed so they have ten more minutes - in about 4 the door opens again and then in 6 more, it closes for the night. The theory is that the stragglers go in the second door, but sometimes the ducks all go out on the second door and find themselves locked out. Then I have to intervene.

Silly ducks. They know you'd never leave them out there too, your at their beck and call you know that? lol

Quote: I have a need for a Terrain Utility Sled to clean the duck waste out of the duck coop. We have snow now.
I can also use it in the summer or when it is warm enough to use as a duck pool. I shopped around until I found
the right one at the right price.
This one is listed as high as $54.00, but I got it for $19.99 with free shipping since I also bought something else
that had free shipping if it total`d at least $35.00 It is on back order but I will get it eventually.
It is 36 x26x 9 and weighs 7 lb.Heavy duty tow rope and ribbed sled bottom. Made by Viking and sold by Amazon.com LLC
I did not want it too big or too small. I only have 6 ducks.

Like the number of ducks is a fixed quantity... Well I suppose we have to plan based on the best information we have... I am personally hoping I don't have to move in the next couple years so that I have more property for them to range on...
