He must be like Snow (my first Pekin) was. She had wings that were proportionately large to her huge size and could actually fly as well as any of the other ducks (not that great - I don't have Mallards). Allie (my current Pekin) is, I think, more typical of the breed and has wings only slightly larger than the other ducks (small for her) she can just do extended hops and can jump from heights with out crashing too hard but fly isn't the word I would choose.
Ilove these. So cute.I realized I had over 100 pics of my ducks in my phone! I make Coasters and trivets that I sell as a little side job and finally made some for myself! I've made over 4,000 of them for other people but finally have a few of my own lol.
Aw, so cute.Here are my two week olds. (Sorry, they're rather skittish :/) The four Pekin Swedish mixes are nearly a pound.
I'm sure flapping speed, stroke length, and technique all play into it, but as the big block guys say, there is no replacement for displacement.

Like acually got two feet high for about twenty feet e Now I know sometimes they make a mad rush for the pen and flap their wings but he actually had lift off and didn't come back down till they got to the pen. It was like watching my Mallard fly, but it was my pekin.
