The Duck Thread

Okay, thank you for replying. They will be in the house for at least 8 weeks, until they are fully feathered. They will never be alone outside or unattended as ducklings & goslings. We are building a very predator proof house with coop & a very large run that will also be predator proof. They will only be in their large run when I am at work or not home. When I am home they will have free range. Thank you for the responses! I don't mind the magpies, but if they attempt to cause harm to my flock I will Def use the dead bird method hanging from a tree. My dog is a super freak about flying birds, so she will be a good watch. She is also very gentle and good with small animals. Ferrets, kittens, and chickens. So she won't be a threat to my flock.

Big Mama is one insane nut of a duck! She has pretty much adopted any and all chicks/ducklings wherever they are she doesn't care, she periodically makes rounds all day to check on the layer chicks (there's 80 of those) and the ducklings. :lau She kinda freaks when I sit in the duckling pen. :gig

I think I found the real duck thread! I see that The Duck Ladie is here. You helped me with the photos I posted about a week ago.
They are still going strong. Will watch on here and post more photos of the eggs. Hoping I have my guess date right!
Will be needing help as they get closer to lock down.
Photos for those that don't know..had a friend bring by duck eggs for me to put in my bator. Mama was taken by a raccoon. :( Two of the three were viable.

Guessing around 7 or 8 days along here. The night after they were brought to me.

Moving good, and still moving well.
