I didn't think to weigh her first two eggs. Last week I weighed an egg at 80 grams, today's egg weighed in at 115 grams. It was huge!

Sadly, it was also in the pond and had a slight crack.

She's a Pekin. My eyes popped when I saw this egg.

How old is she, in chickens the older the hen the bigger her eggs become I wonder if it could be the same for ducks

I'm not sure precisely, the ducks were passed along from a family who couldn't keep them past around 6-10 weeks. She just started laying about 2 weeks ago. The eggs have been growing steadily larger over that period. I didn't think to start weighing them from day one, I wish I had now!

The mystery of the giant egg was solved, I forgot to post about it.

Twin yolks!
