The farm gate, installed

Thank you. Being amateurs, we learned that there is a strap at the top which can be loosened and then bolted to snug up the top pin. If somebody really wants in, there is plenty of easy ways, such as on the other side, which is open.
It is a deterrence not a solid barrier. It is working for us and I am not too worried. It was really hard to put up.
I suppose it is more about preventing a need for future maintenance. It's unlikely that someone or the weather will lift this thing off the track, but this just prevents that from happening.

It looks fabulous! It doesn't matter that it won't keep predators out. You can't keep predators out of an open fence anyway.
Or does it matter? The first post said it was to help keep hens in and hen hurters out.
I do agree it looks great. Nothing says home like a farm gate across a gravel drive imo.

Maybe the gate serves as a psychological barrier? Aerial predators can still get in an open fence.

I wish I could discourage them as easily . Mine are trying to dig under an apron.
