I don't have video of a roo crowing (for the contest), but I have this! My future chicken wrangler nephew! He's two and loves the birds already.

We have 11 hatched.. and 2 more pipped so far.. A bunch of them hatched over night last night.. As I was getting ready for work I snapped a picture.. I'll snap more when I get home from work this evening..

I just put my 5 eggs into lockdown! 2 are obviously alive( lunging for the air cell) and 3 aren't moving, and one has the weirdest air cell I've ever seen(as in normal most of the way,and then plunging downward about halfway down the egg. I'm thinking this one is dead). Then we have the other 3 under the broody hen. Now I just have to wait until Saturday......

Don't give up hope on any of those eggs yet. I've had air cells run clear down the side of the egg & they hatched. Shipped eggs are especially bad about having wonky air cells. And the ones not moving may just be resting for their big adventure about to come.

First one's here! Yippeee!!! Our own Black Java chick! (Does that make me a 'chicken grandma?'!)

First one hatched on June 19th, yesterday. Second chick hatched out sometime last night. Third egg is unzipping today. That just leaves one little one to go! Yippeeeee! Haven't yet gotten a photo of the two chicks together. Mom's wonderful and let's me look, but I'm trying to give her some space and let her do her "Momma thing"!

Looove the pictures!!! So cute..a young chicken wrangler...how cute it that??

And a picture of 11 chicks in the bator, and more pictures later of more? How many are in there? Do you get to keep them all? I love it when they pop out like popcorn, easy hatch.

And what a cute little baby in the big nest box. All four hatched?

Guess we're waiting on the other pictures. Fun, I love baby pictures...including the human ones!
