The "find your followers" thread!

Ok so I was looking at stuff on BYC when I got to thinking.... I am getting more active with posting on BYC and I love doing hatch-a-longs and stuff but I don't have many followers yet! I decided I would make this thread thingie so people can find followers and people to follow that have the same interests as them.... hope that makes sense? So basically you comment on this thread and you tell everyone what you post on BYC... and if they want they can follow you so they can see your posts. So I will start....

My name is McKenna but please call me Kenna! I live in Polk City, FL on 5 acres. I love animals of all kinds! They can have fur, scales, feathers.... I love em all. I post all kinds of stuff on BYC! I post whelp-a-longs, hatch-a-longs and alot more! I love hatching eggs, growing my own food, I love drawing/painting animals, catching/raising fish/crawfish to feed dogs and the family (and sometimes chickens) and I love everything to do with self sufficiency so I post about all this as well. I butcher my own chickens..... I do alot of outdoor stuff. I even rescue wild baby birds/squirrels if I find one that's hurt or starving. I rescued a Hummingbird recently! We raise bloodhounds and also occasionally take in rescue dogs. if you are interested in any of that stuff feel free to follow me!

Hi!
I'm PippinTheChicken (call me Pippin/Pips for short!). I am in the UK . I own 10 chickens; 7 silkies and 3 polish. I'm hoping to hatch some d'uccles too! Please check out my coop article (on my profile) to visit my flock! I have a beagle dog and 2 russian tortoises.
I enjoy drawing (mostly chickens) on my laptop. I spend most of my time with the flock, mainly Kiwi, my cuddly rooster. I am completely OBSESSED with all poultry, and I love hatching eggs. Unfortunately, I have limited space.

On BYC, I mostly major in Sexing Silkies. But I've been studying and learning quite a lot about poultry so I am spread quite far across all the forums! I love making fun contests and polls, join my chat thread if you want!

Hello, Kenna!

My name is Cassidy, I am 22 years old (23 in November) and originally born and raised in a small town not too far from Houston, TX.
When I was younger, we didn't raise a lot of chickens. I learned that part from my dad and grandfather, and my in laws. I used to show goats and we had ducks and geese.
After high school, I married my high school sweetheart at 18 and moved to the "Natural State" of Arkansas because of its beauty in the northern parts near Missouri, and the super cheap land and house prices. We first started out on 3 acres in a camper with no electricity or running water. We would go to the river to collect water as well as collect rain water. We used solar panels and generators occasionally and a wood stove for heat.
Although this was fun and all, I wanted a house and more acreage, so at the age of 21, my husband and I purchased a house and 15 acres a town away with our 15 chickens we started out with.

Fast forward a year and a half, we now have none of the original chickens due to mycoplasma and having to cull everyone. We now have a lot more ornamental breeds, about 80-85 hens and 15 roosters.
Eventually we want to have kids, but with having PCOS it's been a long journey.

Like you, I enjoy the outdoors, I'm a complete tomboy (I'm a "rough and tough" kind of gal), like to hunt, put up food, try to be self-sufficient, and I love learning about the outdoors and animals. I love hatching out different things in the incubator! Of course I'm obsessed with birds, we started out with cows, sheep, milk goats, chickens, ducks, quail, and rabbits, turkeys. We raise a turkey for Thanksgiving each year.
Now my husband wants to get into exotics so all we have now is chickens, geese, ducks, pigeons, and emus. Of course we have our 2 LGDs and a weenie dog we used our honeymoon fund to get. Lol.

We want to get cows and sheep again when we fence in more acreage, and my husband wants kangaroos and alpacas!

Anyways, that's about it for me and my life. We are so blessed to be in this beautiful state in a wonderful community. We have learned so much from old farmers. While it's hard to be away from family in Texas, we are very happy here and wouldn't change a thing.
