I bid 40 days, laid by a golden giant hen, it was proper size too, 13gms.

Last year, the first batch of Coturnix I hatched and raised started laying at around the 5 1/2 week mark as well, which is roughly the same as yours, don't remember the exact # of days. The eggs were kind of small, though.

I got one yesterday and another today. The birds were born May 1, 2, 3. Makes them 39, 40, 41 days old? crazy...
