The fiscal cliff

I think they're just trying to panic people SS has nothing to do with the fiscal cliff its kinda silly, the fiscal cliff in itself is a joke honestly just a way to get people angry and hating each other.

From my understanding they are only cutting the planned increase. Every department will still get more to spend this year, just not as much as they normally get.

but all we hear is "OMG the sky is falling!"

Not every dept. gets more. Or even the same as last year.

All that extra expense just because the GOP won't talk about having those with money pay their fair share. Then they have the people that they are hurting do their fighting for them...

The truly wealthy are in the mid east and the far east; they are well beyond our taxing authority. Buy enough over priced oil and cheap plastic gee gaws and pretty soon the wealth of the nation is in someone else's hands.

Just who are those wealthy people that are supposed to pay our bills? Name a few. If we confiscated all of their wealth, we would still be so deep in debt that we could never pay it off.

The unconscious goal of some politicians is not equal prosperity, but equal poverty. That benefits no one. Politicians promise to do things for us, then they turn around and do things to us. When they bring home the bacon, it us usually cut off of our hind quarter.

No matter which party controls the political process, we are destined to suffer massive inflation and unemployment. The die is cast.

The issue is how will we survive it all. If I was younger, I would emigrate.

Didn't we just raise the taxes on those making more in January ? Are we going to be doing that every 3 months ?

Is it the fault of the politicians or the people that vote for the one that will bring home the most bacon ?
Just like the stuff people buy made overseas and then complain there's no jobs here. Is it the fault of the companies or the people that buy the stuff made overseas ?

We have not yet reached that Pogo Moment. When things go terribly wrong, people will blame one political party or the other. Then they will look for a scapegoat. It may be a religious minority or a racial minority. I sure hope it isn't old geezers like me.

Of course, this all comes too late for me. The IRS has already cleaned my clock. I have nothing to protect.

Does it not worry people that homeland security has bought all of those bullets? Who is going to shoot them and whom are they going to be shot at? That works out to be about five bullets for every man, woman and child in this country. How many times are they going to shoot us?

Now I see that they are buying light tanks.

Frankly, I am more afraid of the US government than I am of a crazy with a fire arm.
