My son let the flock out to enjoy the snow. Enjoy they did.

Great pics! Are turkeys hard to raise? I was told NOT to get them as they are very stupid and very time consuming. I eat turkey 3-4 days a week and would love to have my own flock. Any advise. Thank you and glad they made it thru the storm.

Turkeys are far from stupid. They tend to have very individual personalities and are extremely curious even as very young poults. Any project I start outdoors when mine are loose and they will be right up in the middle of it messing with the tools or whatever I am using. Some can become very affectionate toward you while some can become naughty and agressive. I have never had a problem raising them. Just make sure to feed turkey starter or at least gamebird starter and brood them off the ground the 1st couple of months. Keep a camera handy at all times.

I'll take a flock of turkeys anyday over a bunch of squawking chickens.

No offence to you chicken luvers of course.

Well the intention was to eat the extras but my son has kind of adopted them all as pets so I do not think butchering is an option. We've had no problem whatsoever selling the extras.
