(Birds can mate as long as they are in the same genus, which means part 1 of their scientific names match up. I check everyone's character's scientif. names if you're not sure of them.)

(I may be wrong, but i believe same species/ sub species can be mates, Like a great horned owl, can be a mate to a barn owl, and a red tailed hawk can be a mate to a bat hawk, and a bald eagle could be a mate to a spotted indian eagle. and a pearl kite can be a mate to a letter wing kite. as long as the species name I.e. owl, hawk, kite, eagle etc. is the same then subspecies i.e. bald, great horn, letter wing, pearl etc. doesn't matter. right?)

(I know it was stretching it, but I wasn't sure about the different families of birds mixing. If it makes sense like a sooty/barn owl kestrel/peregrine falcons its probably okay. And the same species can definitely mate.)
