Oh no! I am so sorry for your loss. How is her mum doing?Poor Bridget died today. She was fine this morning. I think she got stepped on.Things happen. Poor thing.
She doesn't seem so upset since I turned them loose. But she was pretty frantic earlier. She is a good momma, I approve her for future brooding. I wish the other 5 eggs hatched for her. So she still had chicks to tend too, but life happens, and sometimes it sucks. Most of my year has sucked for my flock. I feel bad for them. But like them, you just have to move on, and keep flocking!Oh no! I am so sorry for your loss. How is her mum doing?![]()

I was very worried about her Mum. So sad. I'm sorry.I'm super bummed, my little showgirl is goneI wonder if that pesky hawk was out there again. I remember seeing everyone running around. But didn't think much of it. I know no one in the run was being mean. They all stayed their distance from it and mom. I think it was just stepped on. Ain't going to lie, I cried when I found it laying there. Only thing I seen wrong with it, was a very small scratch under its jaw. Poor momma. She is so frantic. I showed her it wad gone. Then turned both flocks out, so she is a bit distracted from foraging.
For you.She doesn't seem so upset since I turned them loose. But she was pretty frantic earlier. She is a good momma, I approve her for future brooding. I wish the other 5 eggs hatched for her. I would leave her there if you're heart will take it. Going from being picked on to running the flock means that the flock environment is much better for her there.Since Rori has been on vacation with my moms bantam flock. Ol Cotton and her have bonded and taken over the flock. I wanted to bring her back before winter, now that her head is healed. But she has made herself at home here. Maybe best if she just stays there? It's not like I dont see her almost daily. Plus I know she is loved and cared for and not being picked on.
