Do you think with this new "green" movement that if the right pressure is applied that we could get towns to change their zoning to allow hens? It seems that quiet a few of us are chicken outlaws lol. I am sure roosters would never get through but...

Maybe, In Derby KS here they allow two chickens tops in city limits I don't know if they say anything about roosters. I live right outside of city limits though. Though its much healthier we don't put so many chemicals in our chickens which ends up in the ground through their waste, and our chicken's waste could be used for fertalizer, and the eggs are much healthier. Pretty obvious what they SHOULD choose, but all they can think about is the facts that aren't even always true like smell? I think cat poo smells worse then chickens as long as you keep it clean.

I think the "green movement" would only come into play if the few individuals that have been elected onto the town board have been effected by it. Towns are run by just a few often with very big egos. Feed their eggos, make them think the chickens could somehow be a good idea for them. That's how to change things.
